Congratulations to Blanca Rivera, a current student enrolled in our Non-traditional PharmD Pathway (C39), was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the Florida Board of Pharmacy. Ms. Rivera, of Miami, is the executive director of pharmacy at the University of Miami Health System. She fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning August 25, 2017, and ending October 31, 2019. (08/17)

Michelle Rager, PharmD, BCPS, CDE was the recipient of an APhA-APPM (American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management) Contributed Research Presentation Merit Award.
She was recognized at the APhA-APPM Medication Management Special Interest Group at the APhA Annual meeting in Baltimore, Maryland for her research project entitled "Improving Patient Immunization Rates Through Optimizing Pharmacy's Role in Providing Immunization Services". (03/11)
Dr. Dawn Havrda, Professor and Chair for the Department of Pharmacy Practice, served as Faculty Panel Chair for the Ambulatory Care Self-Assessment Program (ACSAP) book on Endocrinologic/Rheumatologic Care that was released in January 2016. The book is the first in the series aimed for the Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) to gain hours toward recertification. The book contains six chapters, and Dr. Michelle Rager, Associate Professor for the Department of Pharmacy Practice authored the chapter on Osteoporosis. (03/11)
